ROVINJ, 7 April 2019 – Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson (70) is happy to be in Croatia and has been impressed what he has seen, albeit in just 24 hours.
Jackson, who is ranked as the highest all-time box office star with over $5.15 billion total US box office gross, arrived in the country on a Croatia Airlines charter flight on Saturday afternoon.
After landing in Pula, Jackson made his way to Rovinj in Istria where he is filming The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, the sequel to the 2017 film The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
“This new location looks promising! Croatia is lovely at first glance,” Jackson wrote on his Instagram after posting three photos from Rovinj.
Jackson will be joined by Salma Hayek and Ryan Reynolds in Rovinj for the filming of the movie. The film also stars Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas, Tom Hopper, Frank Grillo and Richard E. Grant.
Filming will take place in Croatia for the next month, with Zagreb also to be one of the shooting locations. The film is also shot in Italy, Bulgaria and United Kingdom and will be released next year.
Jackson has starred in a number of movies, including as Goodfellas, Patriot Games, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained and a number of Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Iron Man, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard grossed $75.5 million for Lionsgate in the U.S. and more than $180 million worldwide when it was released in 2017.
