Sandra Elkasević wins bronze medal at the Paris Olympics

Sandra Elkasević (34) has won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics on Monday night in the women’s discus.

Sandra’s best throw in the final was 67.51 metres, but it was not good enough to secure gold.

Allman was unbeatable with a throw of 69.50 metres. This marks Elkasević’s 15th medal at major competitions, including 11 golds.

The gold went to American Valerie Allman, with a throw of 69.50 metres, while the silver medal was claimed by China’s Bin Feng.

Feng’s best throw was identical to the Croatian’s, but she took silver due to a better second throw.

This is the third Olympic medal for Elkasević, following two golds in London in 2012 and Rio in 2016, while she finished fourth in Tokyo three years ago.

Sandra has now won 15 medals at major competitions, including 11 golds.

This was Croatia’s second bronze in Paris after Miran Maričić (shooting), and the fifth medal overall.

The Sinković brothers secured gold in rowing, as did Barbara Matić in judo, and Donna Vekić won silver in tennis.
