Croatia’s reigning European, World and Olympic discus champion Sandra Perković has claimed victory in the Diamond League opener in Doha last night…
Perković (24), who has won the Diamond League the last three years in a row, threw 68.10 metres in the fourth round win the discus event ahead of Germany’s Nadine Muller (65.13m) and Australia’s Dani Samuels (64.45m).
“I am satisfied with four points and the win here, but the result does not make me happy. I came here with 71m. That is why my expectations were high. Of course this is the second best throw of the season, but I can do much better,” said the Croatian after the victory.
