ZAGREB, 28 June 2021 – The State Office for Croats Abroad is once again offering scholarships for Croatian language learning.
Applications for scholarships for Croatian language learning online for the 2021/22 academic year are now open, the State Office for Croats Abroad announced on its website.
The scholarship refers to the Croatian online course HiT-1 organised by the University of Zagreb, the Croatian Heritage Foundation and the University Computing Centre SRCE. The scholarship includes the complete tuition fee of the Online Croatian language course.
The aim of the scholarships is to help further a better understanding of the Croatian language and culture, as well as to foster the partnership with Croatians abroad and their descendants. It is hoped that the programme will help provide a stimulant for Croatians abroad and their descendants to return to Croatia.
Applicants must be aged over 18, completed at least secondary school and with residence outside Croatia or those who have been residing in Croatia for no more than three years.
Those who can apply are people with Croatian heritage, their spouses, as well as friends of the Croatian people and the Republic of Croatia who can nurture Croatian identity and promote Croatian cultural unity.
