Uppermoda, a Croatian Fashion and Homewares Business, based out of Sydney, Australia have recently expanded their offering to include something unique to add a touch of tradition to Croatian weddings.
Ivana Katarina Mustapić from Calgary, Canada reached out to Meagan and Michael Hadusek, the owners of Uppermoda, and enquired about working on a special project for her wedding day.
“Ivana wanted us to create something special for her big day. We must admit we were a bit nervous but absolutely excited about the challenge ahead! She wanted us to incorporate Croatian patterns into her wedding day and asked for something that could cover the shoulders of her bridal party during the Church ceremony.” Meagan, the owner of Uppermoda explained
Meagan said “With so many ideas running through my mind, we landed on a free-flowing Croatian traditional red hearts shawl with a satin lining and hook closure. Ivana also came up with a great idea to create a special Croatian white hearts shawl for the maid of honour, Adria.”

“We custom made each of the 9 wedding shawls specific to the measurements of each woman so that it was tailored to their bridesmaid dress and fit appropriately. We then wrapped each shawl, placed them in our reusable ‘Hvala’ Bags and created personalised name cards for each of them to make it extra special.”
Ivana surprised her bridal party on the morning of her wedding day and gifted them their custom-made Croatian shawl.

Uppermoda’s primary line includes clothing, accessories and homewares, all of which feature traditional Croatian patterns and motifs. They are now expanding into wedding attire and work closely with the bride and groom on their requirements for their big day.
