Zagreb, 16 January 2023 – One of the biggest and most influential post rock bands of all time, Iceland’s Sigur Ros will play two concerts at a spectacular fortress on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast this summer.
Sigur Ros will play at St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik on 24 and 25 July 2023.
Six years after the sold-out concert in Zagreb, Sigur Ros are arriving in Šibenik on a stage that has hosted some big musical names in recent years. The Icelandic giants will dedicate two days of their big world tour to Šibenik, where fans will be able to see the band in two of the most intimate performances, given that only 1,000 tickets will be sold per concert.
In 2023, the group will embark on their first tour in five years, it will be accompanied by a new studio album, as well as a familiar face in the line-up, with keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson returning.
The new tour will also mark the 20th anniversary of the milestone album “( )”, one of the most famous works of the complete post/ambient rock scene, for which the band won a Grammy. At the concerts, they will perform at least six songs from that release, including the powerful “Untitled #8”, which they have been closing sets with for years.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, January 18 at 10:00 am and will be 63 EUR. After the first contingent of 500 tickets is sold out, the price for the remaining tickets rises to 66 EUR.
The points of sale are Dirty Old Shop, Rockmark, all Eventim points of sale, as well as Eventim online.
