Slaven Bilić appointed coach of Beijing Guoan

ZAGREB, 6 January 2021- Former Croatia coach Slaven Bilić has been named manager of Chinese Super League club Beijing Sinobo Guoan Football Club, the club confirmed on Wednesday.
Bilić, who became the first Premier League manager to be fired in the 2020/21 season when he was released by West Bromwich Albion, has signed a two-year-deal with the club.
“We are honored to announce a 2-year contract with our new first team coach Mr. Slaven Bilić and coach team, welcome to Beijing,” the club announced.
Financial details of the contract were not made public.
Beijing Sinobo Guoan os one of four teams to never have been relegated from the Chinese Super League since its debut in 2004. They won their first ever professional league title in the 2009 league season as well as the 1996, 1997, 2003 and 2018 Chinese FA Cup.

The 52-year-old Croatian now adds China to his coaching resume which includes stints in Croatia, England, Russia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
