ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) – The Faculty of Science in Split last Wednesday celebrated its 75th anniversary online via YouTube because a traditional ceremony could not be held due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Dean Nikola Koceic Bilan expressed regret that the faculty could not hold a celebration to mark its 75th anniversary. “That did not prevent us from celebrating our faculty’s 75th birthday at least virtually,” he said.
He underscored that the Faculty of Science was one of two such faculties in Croatia.
“The most impressive thing about our faculty is that it educates a wide range of professionals in the fields of mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, engineering and informatics. Those who studied here we see today at workplaces in Croatia and around the world,” Koceic Bilan underscored.
Split University Rector Dragan Ljutic said that the faculty was one of the university’s flagships, and Split Mayor Andro Krstulovic Opara that the faculty’s diligence was Split’s pride.
