Croatia to play Russia in Split
ZAGREB, 20 July 2021 – Croatia will play Russia at Poljud stadium in Split in a 2022 World Cup qualifier in November, the Croatian Football Federation confirmed today.
Croatia will face Russia on 14 November 2021 at Poljud stadium with kick-off at 3 p.m.
Poljud stadium, which this month unveiled a new hybrid pitch, were also given hosting rights to the 2022 World Cup qualifier on 7 September against Slovenia. That match will kick-off at 8:45 p.m.
Croatia’s first match since Euro 2020 will be the 2022 World Cup qualifier on 1 September away to Russia, followed by an away match against Slovakia on 4 September and then Slovenia three days later.
Osijek will then host the 2022 World Cup qualifier on 11 October against Slovakia.

Croatia is currently at the top of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification – UEFA Group H after three matches. After losing 1-0 away to Slovenia, Croatia beat Cyprus and Malta and have 6 points.
Ten first-placed teams in their groups will qualify directly for the World Cup, while the second-placed teams will play the playoffs in March 2022.
