Temperatures dropped below minus on Biokovo with snow falling on the mountain in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a sharp contrast to the warm spring weather the nation had been experiencing.
“On the highest point of Biokovo – St Juri, there is 6-7 centimetres of snow, with a chance of half a metre to come in,” said Petar Babić, a transmitter technician on Biokovo, adding that he remembers snow even in May.
