Summer Holidays Over as Kids Go Back to School

The long, summer holiday is over for around 500,000 kids in Croatia as the first day of the 2014-15 school year started around the country this morning…

This year there are around 250 more kids starting their first day of school than there was last year when there were 40,777 are primary schools first graders. Primary education is compulsory in Croatia. Around 330,000 pupils are enrolled this year at elementary schools (8 grades) around the country, whilst a further 45,000 pupils will begin specialised secondary school classes for the first time on Monday.
