The new Michelin guide for Croatia for 2022 was presented last week.
10 Croatian restaurants maintained their Michelin stars, whilst 6 new restaurants were included in the Michelin recommendation for 2022.
One of those was Taj Mahal in Dubrovnik.
Opened in the Old Town of Dubrovnik by couple Edin and Edina, who shared their passion for Bosnian cuisine, Taj Mahal has created an impressive reputation.
The inviting smell spreading from the grill and stove in their Old Town restaurant has been very popular with both locals and tourists ever since their doors opened back in 2004. Taj Mahal’s sister restaurant opened in 2013 in Hotel Lero.
They present a freedom to their guests what the Bosnian cuisine is really about. The moment you step in, you are transported into another world.
“Bosnian food is just like the country itself, a mix of inter-knitted cultures and flavours with a clear emphasis on fresh herbs, vegetables and meat combined in perfect proportions,” the owners said.
Čevapi, Burek, Begova čorba, japrak, Klepe (Bosnian minced meat dumplings), Dolma, are just some of the dishes on the vast menu.
Taj Mahal also branched out into the butchery business with the boutique food store located a few steps away from Lapad’s main road junction. The accent is on fresh meat, although they also sell salami-style sausage and stock locally-produced relishes and chill sauces.
