On the feast day of Saint Domnius, the patron saint of the city of Split, the grand opening of Dalmatia Tower, the tallest building in Croatia, will take place tomorrow.

The event is aptly named “Above all,” suggesting that the reception will be held at the tallest building in Croatia.

Dalmatia Tower stands 135 meters tall and was designed by the renowned Croatian architect Otto Barić.

This skyscraper has received two prestigious international awards: the “European Property Awards” for the best architectural solution for high-rise commercial buildings and the “International Property Award” for the best project in the development category.

Both awards were granted amidst fierce European and global competition, with Dalmatia Tower competing among hundreds of buildings and projects.

As part of the complex, the AC Hotel started operating last July, which is part of the portfolio of the world’s largest hotel chain, Marriott International. AC Hotel Split is also the first representative of its brand in Croatia, paving the way for an entirely new hotel and tourism industry.

Although Dalmatia Tower has been operational since July last year, the entire complex will now be presented to the public with a spectacular and unprecedented program.

Investor Josip Komar expressed pride and happiness that after years of processes, the project that has breathed life into Split has been finalised.

“Today, almost 1000 people work in Dalmatia Tower, with at least 700 of them in highly specialised IT. Alongside the AC Hotel, many international companies operate here, and that’s exactly what we aimed for. We wanted to urbanistically, touristically, and corporately reposition Split and create the contours of the city’s future development.

Dalmatia Tower undoubtedly represents a monumental urban and architectural value of modern Dalmatia, combining contemporary minimalism with Split’s ancient heritage into a harmonious whole,” said Komar, explaining why the grand opening is happening now.

Since we put the skyscraper and the hotel into operation last year, right in the midst of the peak season, we simply didn’t have the logistical or time possibilities to hold a ceremony of this magnitude earlier.

That’s why we’ve really made an effort in the meantime to ensure that everything is at the highest level, as our project is the greatest architectural achievement of the last decade, except for the Pelješac Bridge. This is a big day for Split, Dalmatia, and Croatia,” says Komar.

From the AC Hotel by Marriott Split, they revealed a series of details about the ceremony and highlighted exclusive moments that will mark the contemporary history of Split.

“For this evening, we’ve been preparing for months with a team of experienced professionals. For example, from the top of Dalmatia Tower, there will be a laser show visible from space by satellites. Furthermore, climbers will spread the iconic Croatian flag across the entire building, which has accompanied our footballers at the World Cups in Russia and Qatar, showing both patriotism and becoming a cult photograph that will circulate worldwide.

Additionally, Gibonni will perform a concert, and all guests will, at one point, be able to come to the rooftop and witness an impressive view of Split, the sea, and the islands, as well as a spectacular fireworks display that will illuminate Dalmatia Tower,” said Damir Lukić, general manager of AC Hotel by Marriott Split, announcing a series of other surprises that will be revealed on the day of the opening.

The opening will be attended by a host of famous figures from the world of entertainment, sports, entrepreneurship, politics, and cultural life in Split and Croatia.
