Croatian media are reporting that the deal is worth up to 13 million euros, which would make it the third biggest transfer in Dinamo’s history.
Marko Pjaca’s 23 million euro move to Juventus is the club record, with Luka Modrić’s move to Tottenham for 21 million euros in the 2008/9 season the second highest.
If Benković’s deal goes through he will be the third highest for the club and he will be among the TOP 20 of all time for a Croatian player.
Top European clubs have spent over 200 million euros on buying 13 Croatian footballers over the last decade.
The most expensive signing in Croatian history is still Mateo Kovačić’s 31 million euro move from Inter Milan to Real Madrid in 2015/16.
Modrić’s 30 million euro move from Tottenham to Real Madrid is next on the list, followed by Dejan Lovren’s 25.3 million euro move from Southampton to Liverpool.
