ZAGREB, 24 February 2020 – The Boomtown Rats, led by frontman Sir Bob Geldof, will perform in the Croatian capital Zagreb on 14 March.
The concert was set to take place at the new Hala venue in Zagreb but has been moved to Tvornica Kulture. The date of the concert remains the same. The concert will also be the live world premiere of the band’s new studio album “Citizens of Boomtown”.
After 36 years, The Boomtown Rats will officially release the album “Citizens Of Boomtown” the day before the Zagreb concert. The album contains ten new songs, represented by the excellent retro single “Trash Glam Baby”.
The Zagreb audience will have the opportunity to be the first in the world to hear new compositions just one day after the world release date, at the first solo Boomtown Rats concert in 2020.
Before Croatia, the band will perform at the Great British Alternative Festival with performers such as Sham69, The Undertones and Glen Matlock, while all solo performances will come after Tvornica Kulture. Along with the new album, Geldof’s book “Tales Of Boomtown Glory”, packed with stories from the band’s history, will also be on sale.

They ruled the charts in 32 countries with “I Don’t Like Mondays” which became a worldwide hit and number one on the charts in the UK. They released six defining albums – “The Boomtown Rats” (1977), “A Tonic For The Troops ”(1978),“ The Fine Art Of Surfacing ”(1979),“ Mondo Bongo ”(1980),“ V Deep ”(1982) and“ In The Long Grass ”(1984).
