A new hotel in the Istrian town of Novigrad made the Forbes list of the 9 dreamiest Mediterranean hotels to open in 2022.
The luxury Palazzo Rainis Hotel & Spa, which opened in April 2022, is a reconstruction of the former Villa Rainis.
“The hotel is a reconstruction of the former Villa Rainis, which was built around 1900 and named after the Rainis family who moved to Novigrad from Venice in the 19th century. A member of the Small Luxury Hotels network, Palazzo Rainis features 16 rooms and suites, a state-of-the-art spa and the Croatian fine-dining restaurant Chemistry,” Forbes writes.

Palazzo Rainis Hotel & Spa was among 9 hotels opened this year in Greece, Spain, Italy and Israel to make the Forbes list.
One of the most prestigious Croatian architectural studios, Atellior studio, was responsible for the reconstruction of the Palazzo Rainis Hotel.

“Only the best materials were used for the reconstruction, and attention was paid to every detail. From the luxuriously equipped rooms the view overlooks the sea, for breakfast guests can enjoy hand-selected Istrian delicacies. Rooms offer sea views, balconies, spacious, richly furnished living areas, modern bathrooms with walk-in showers,” Journal said.

Top Croatian chef, Tom Gretić, is responsible for the menu at the fine dining restaurant Chemistry. Along with Chemistry, the bar Potions serve the best Croatian and Istrian wines, liqueurs and spirits.
Guests can also discover the beauties of Istria by yacht as well as islands of the nearby Brijuni National Park, Lim Channel, Cape Kamenjak and enjoy a romantic cruise around Rovinj.
