The Great Toilet Paper Debate

The Dalmatian city of Split has some problems, high unemployment, debt, and the survival of its famous football club Hajduk Split just to name a few. But, if you were in attendance at this morning’s City Council meeting and listened to some of the debate on the agenda, you could be excused to think that there was not much wrong in the city. Here is an exert from today’s meeting:
“Employees from the City Administration have pleaded with me to ask this. You have removed paper to wipe your hands with in Banovina. How much are the savings? Given that 30 new people have just been employed, can the employees of the City Administration expect that toilet paper for their bottoms will also be removed?” Tomislav Prljević questioned Split Mayor Ivo Baldasar.
The Split Mayor said that he had no idea that the paper had been removed from the toilets.
“If it is true, you opened up my eyes. I never even thought about it, nor talked about it, nor gave any directions for that. I will go to the toilet to check, if you want we can go in together,” said Baldasar.
