The Hobbit Fails To Reach US Heights In Croatia

Despite breaking box office records in America, where it knocked off “I am Legend” with Will Smith, as the highest earning film on its opening weekend, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” has failed to have the same success in Croatia.
Peter Jackson’s fantasy film, which can be viewed in five different formats in Croatia, had 52,224 viewers in its opening three days. The film failed to pass “The Passion of the Christ”, “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” and “Skyfall” with its opening weekend numbers.
In America The Hobbit earnt 11 million euros in just its first three days, passing the record of 10.1 million when “I am legend” opened in 2007.
