The most awarded Croatian olive oil named in world’s Top 10

Terraolivo IOOC is an international competition held in Israel since 2010. This year, 467 oils from 19 countries were evaluated by a panel of 27 experts.

Terraolivo is not a mass competition but is considered very prestigious, being regarded as a judgement for the highest echelon of extra virgin olive oil producers.

Awards at Terraolivo are given in four main quality categories: the highest-rated oils make it to the Top Ten; oils scoring between 86 and 100 points receive the Grand Prestige Gold Medal; those with scores from 75 to 85.99 receive the Prestige Gold Medal; and oils scoring from 65 to 75.99 receive a Gold Medal.

In addition to the main awards, special awards are presented for the best organic oils, packaging design, Israeli national awards, and others.

This year, a Croatian oil, Nai 3.3, produced by Nives and Goran Morović on Dugi Otok, made it into the Top Ten, the highest award category, Kult Plave Kamenice reports.

Some are harvested from centuries-old olive groves and all are processed immediately in the sophisticated small oil mill within Villa Nai 3.3. Nai 3.3 oils are among the most prestigious international award winners in Croatia.

The Morović family produces three oils: Coratina, Drobnica, and a blend, with Coratina achieving the best results.
