The Most Popular Car Sold in Croatia in 2014

The German Volkswagen was once again the most sold car brand in Croatia in 2014…

Last year in Croatia there were 33,328 brand new cars sold, which is 19.5% or 5,431 more than what was sold in the previous year, according to the agency JATO. There were also 5,201 lightweight, fuel-efficient vehicles sold last year, 1,8% less than the year prior. Overall in 2014 the car market in Croatia was up 16.1% from 2013. Whilst there was double-digit growth in 2014, the number of new car sales is nowhere near the pre-global economic crisis level when for example 82,664 cars were sold in 2007 and 88,265 cars in 2008.

The Volkswagen again topped the list of the most popular new car in the country with a market share of 15.9% (5,297 cars sold). Opel was the second most popular brand purchased in 2014, followed by Škoda, Peugeot, Renault, Citroen, Ford, Hyundai, Toyota and Kia.
