The third judge from Croatia at the world’s largest wine competition named

ZAGREB, 27 February 2020 – Another wine expert from Croatia has been named among the judges of the world’s largest wine competition.
Leading wine columnist Saša Špiranec has been named as one of the judges of the 2020 Decanter World Wine Awards, becoming the third person from Croatia to judge the awards.
Špiranec, who writes a wine column for daily newspaper Jutarnji list and is a regular contributor to Dobra Hrana, food and wine magazine, has written three wine books and judged at a number of international wine competitions.
He is also the founder of wine marketing and event company Vinart and co-founder of wine laboratory Vinolab, whose primary goal is wine production quality improvement in Croatia, by providing expert oenological consulting and laboratory wine analyses.
Špiranec joins sommeliers Siniša Lasan and Marija Meštrovic as Decanter World Wine Awards judges from Croatia.
Founded in 2004 and judged by the top wine experts from around the globe, the London-based competition now receives entries from nearly 50 countries worldwide and with over 17,000 entries, it is the largest wine competition in the world.
Entries for the 17th edition of the awards close on 28 February 2020.
