This week begins Little Picnic, a charming summer event that every August turns Zagreb’s Upper Town into a place of happy meetings and local treats, bringing real refreshment to the city’s cultural and tourist offer.
In cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board, Little Picnic will once again spread its blankets overlooking the city, gather smiling faces, explore the summer flavours of small local producers and tell a different summer picnic story in one of the most beautiful city locations, under the canopy of the Upper Town Park Bela IV.
In addition to the products of several small producers, the inevitable wine in all colours, craft beer and natural juices, this year the Little Picnic menu includes a variety of snacks from local and seasonal ingredients bearing the signature of the bistro Vještica dedicated to the tastes of traditional cuisine.
Relaxed conversations by candlelight, barefoot lying on the grass, old-town romantic ambience, local treats and special moments together are small things that give the Little Picnic a special charm, adding it to the list of events you must visit at least once.
Therefore, if you spend August in Zagreb, book at least one Friday to enjoy all those simple things that come with the Little Picnic, let go of all worries, gather family and dear friends, take your couple on a romantic date, share a blanket and a bite with the dog.
This year’s first blankets with a view of the city are waiting for you in Bela IV Park, on Friday, August 6, from 5 to 11 pm, after which the Little Picnic continues every Friday until the end of the month. In case of rain Little Picnic is postponed to Sunday.
Admission is free, with adherence to prescribed epidemiological rules and measures, and all you need to bring with you is a good mood.
The event is organised by Mali plac and supported by the Zagreb Tourist Board. Find more information on the Facebook and Instagram page of the Little Picnic.
