One of the actions included a cleanup of Obojena beach with a great help from students from Design School (Škola za dizajn, grafiku i održivu gradnju). In just a few hours, a large amount of waste was found in a very small area.
The largest amount of waste (70% of the waste found) were cigarette butts, while the rest of the waste included bottle caps, plastic waste (such as plastic sticks, cotton buds, plastic bags) and pieces of glass were found just within a couple of hours and on a significantly small area.
“This reminds us that, whenever on a beach, we should be considerate and do our part to separate and dispose of waste in an appropriate way so our beaches and our sea could remain clean and beautiful,” Green Sail said.
