27 April 2019 – Tonight at KSW 48 in Lublin, Poland two of Croatia’s top MMA fighters will make their KSW debut. Veteran fighter Stjepan Bekavac (19-9) will face old rival Lukasz Jurkowski (16-11) in the co-main event while Filip ‘Nitro’ Pejic (13-2-2) takes on Filip Wolanski (11-3) in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
Bekavac was been competing professionally since 2005 and has fought all over Europe and has registered wins over top fighters like Martin Zawada and UFC vet Eddie Sanchez. This will not be the first time the 36-year-old has faced Jurkowski.
Nearly fourteen years ago they locked horns in the cage and it was the Croatian who came out on top after Jurkowski suffered an injury. Both men now feel they have something to prove in this rematch.
While Bekavac might be a true old school veteran of the sport, Pejic represents the new school and is one of the most exciting prospects in Europe.
The 26-year-old has a fierce reputation of finishing his opponents and boasts an 85% finishing ration with a total of eight KO’s on his record. It is understandable where the nickname of ‘Nitro’ comes from. Pejic comes into KSW on an impressive run and his only loss in the past seven years came when he made his sole UFC appearance when the promotion visited Croatia in 2016.
Now that little bit older and more experienced, Pejic is ready to take on the big leagues once again when he faces tough Polish prospect Filip Wolanski in a fight which screams excitement. You can watch Bekavac, Pejic, and the complete KSW 48 fight card tonight live around the world on www.KSWTV.com, start time is 7pm CET.
