A tough draw for Croatia’s Davis Cup tennis team…
Croatia will have to travel to Sao Paulo after drawing Brazil in the Davis Cup World Group Play-off. Croatia will face Brazil away on 18-20 September as they attempt to make it into the World Group next season. The tie will most likely be played on grass and Croatia will have to be at full strength to counter a tough Brazilian team.
Brazil’s number one, Thomaz Bellucci, who is ranked 42nd in the world, has not lost a match for Brazil since 2009. Brazil’s double pairing features Grand Slam winner Marcelo Melo, who is Croatian Ivan Dodig’s partner.
The tie will be played just one week after the US Open, where Croatia’s number one Marin Čilićwill be defending his title.
