Croatia’s Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin expects Croatia to find it tough this year to attract tourists from Russia…
Speaking yesterday from Moscow, where he is attending the MITT Travel Show, Lorencin says Croatia will struggle to attract the same number of Russian tourists, many whom were wealthy and liked to spend money on the Croatian coast while they were there. New visa requirements introduced when Croatia had to adapt EU rules, political unrest and the fall of the ruble he says are all factors that will make Croatian travel industry workers job tough this summer.
Lorencin said Croatia’s embassy and consular office had granted close to 900 visas for Russians this year. Visas for Croatia had been extended from 90 to 180 days.
