Tourism Up 18% in Split

The Dalmatian port city of Split, Croatia’s second-largest city, recorded 53,877 tourist arrivals in June and 145,744 overnight stays, which is 14% more arrivals and 18% more overnight stays that the same month last year…
The largest arrivals last month came from the United Kingdom, with 6,793 visiting, up a massive 61% from last year. Second on the list were the Americans (5,470 visitors), followed by Australians (3,159), Germans (3,004) and French (2,027).
In the first five months of this year there had been 143,708 arrivals and 367,721 overnight stays in Split, which was 11% more arrivals and 21% more overnight stays than the same period last year.
Good news also for Split was that the number of local tourists was also up. 3,296 locals visited in June, 11% more than June 2014.
