Tourism statistics in Croatia keep getting better and better outside of the traditional summer period…

According to data just released by the Croatian Statistics Bureau, the number of tourist arrivals to Croatia in February grew by 18.4% from the same period last year. Overnight stays, a key measure in the industry, were up 16.1% from February 2015.

In February Croatia achieved 428,225 tourist overnight stays, of which 59.8% were made up from foreign tourists. Local tourists contributed 40.2% of the registered overnight stays, up 24.3% from last year.

Tourists from Slovenia created the most overnight stays in Croatia in February (20.5% of total), followed by tourists from Austria (10%), Italy (9.7%), Germany (8.6%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (6.4 %) and South Korea (5.5%).

Early indications are usually a sign how the rest of the year will pan out, and it seems 2016 will be a record-breaking year for tourism in Croatia.
