Tourists From Over 80 Countries Visit Croatia

Foreign tourists have visited Croatia so far this season from more than 80 different countries from all continents around the globe, the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) said on Friday.
The largest number of visitors in 2013 have come from the same countries which have traditional supplied the most visitors; Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, Holland, Slovakia, UK, Hungary and France, with an increasing number of Scandinavians, Brazilians, Australians and Americans arriving this season.
According to HTZ, 6 million foreign tourists, or 4% more than last year, have entered Croatia in the first 7 months of the year. German’s topped the list (level), followed by Slovenians (1.1% more than 2012), Austrians (0.2% more) Czechs (1.3% up) and Poles, up a massive 19% on last year. The Italians have slid back from 3rd spot to 6th, whilst the British are in 9th position.
The largest movers were the Norwegians and Swedes. With a lot more direct flights operating out of Scandinavia, Croatia has welcomed between 30-60% more tourists from those nations. 2013 has also seen considerably more tourists from Australia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Brazil, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Canada, China, and the USA.
