Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival 2018 Set to Open in Zadar

The popular Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival will be held this year from 2-11 February 2018 in Zadar.
This year’s festival, the fourth so far, presents a combination and exchange of experiences of cultural, historical, gastronomic and natural Croatian and Japanese resources.
The festival, organised by the Zadar Tourist Board, in collaboration with the City of Zadar, Embassy of Japan in Croatia, Croatian Ministry of Tourism, Croatian National Tourist Board, Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Zadar County Tourist Board and NPO JCEA Japanese-Croatian Exchange Association, is divided into two parts – professional and public.
The festival programme open to the public includes a gala opening event event in the Arsenal, origami workshops in collaboration with the Croatian Origami Society at the Archaeological Museum of Zadar, presentation of traditional Japanese martial and defensive arts and skills performed by Zadar sports clubs, lectures and a photo exhibition at the Rector’s Palace, eno-gastro market in the atrium of the Cedulin Palace.
The programme is supported by Zadar restaurants, which will offer tuna and other fish specialties for the duration of the Festival.
The professional section includes education and professional in culinary arts by the Croatian chef David Skoko and accompanied by the students of Zadar School of Hospitality, Tourism and Catering. A tour of Zadar and Zadar County is planned for Japanese and Croatian guests and journalists.

A GALA EVENING EVENT IN THE ARSENAL AT 8 P.M.
Music and stage program with Luka Bulic and Jeremiah’s band, live cooking show with top Croatian chef HRVOJE ZIROJEVIĆ and JOSIP VRSALJKO, buffet dinner with tuna specialties and other quality Adriatic fish and finally the performance of ikebana in ice by Japanese master KAZUYUKI NIHASHI.

* One-day training at the Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik Hotel on 5th February 2018 on how to use Adriatic other fish in local gastronomy. The lecturer is one of the great contemporary culinary connoisseurs, best known for his love of fish, MR DAVID SKOKO.
* Participants need to fill in an Application Form on the official Zadar Tourist Board website and pay a participation fee (the maximum number of participants is 15 per day)
* Training will take place from 4 to 8 p.m.
