U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden, who arrived in Zagreb amid heavy security on Wednesday morning to attend the Brdo-Brijuni Presidential Process summit, has met with Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanović…
Biden (73), who is the first U.S top official to visit Croatia during the term of President Barack Obama, spent an hour talking with Milanović before the summit opening on Wednesday afternoon.
“For the United States and for me personally, but I am speaking on behalf of the American President, this region has been of extreme interest for the last 25 years”, Biden said.
The summit meeting of heads of state from the countries in the area of former Yugoslavia plus Albania, European Council President Donald Tusk and Austrian President Heinz Fischer, is being co-chaired by Croatia’s President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Slovenian President Borut Pahor.
The agenda of the summit includes the refugee crisis and security challenges in the aftermath of the last terrorist attacks and threats in Europe and world.
