DUBROVNIK, 2 July 2021 – The first nonstop flight connecting New York and Dubrovnik has landed on Friday.
There were 214 Americans on board the inaugural United Airlines flight which landed this morning.
The passengers were welcomed by Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković, Director of Dubrovnik Airport Frano Luetić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić and representatives of United Airlines.
“This is a historic day for Croatian tourism. The US market is the most important long-haul market for our tourism. I think that Croatia and the USA are really great tourism partners. We are recognised as one of the top tourist destinations”, said Staničić, adding that he believes that this will be a long-term cooperation between United Airlines and Dubrovnik Airport.
The New York – Dubrovnik service was not due to start until 8 July but the airline decided to bring the launch forward one week.
The New York — Newark — Dubrovnik service will operate until 3 October with 4 weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
From Dubrovnik to New York flights will leave on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flights will be timed to connect in Newark to over 65 cities in North America.
