Internet streaming media giants RealNetworks announced on Tuesday that they are set to open two offices in Croatia, after acquiring Zagreb-based company Five Minutes…
Seattle-based RealNetworks will add corporate offices in Zagreb and Osijek to their 8 current European locations in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Luxembourg, France, and the United Kingdom. RealNetworks, which is the creator of RealAudio, RealVideo, RealPlayer, RealDownloader, Unifi, digital music library cleanup tool Rinse, and Helix technology for delivering digital media to PCs, mobile phone, and other devices, are expected to open the Croatian offices in within the next three weeks, opening a number of jobs in the process.
The team at Zagreb-based Five Minutes has been working on RealPlayer Cloud from the early stages and provides support for upgrades and platform integrations, including an app introduced earlier this month for Amazon Fire TV. RealPlayer Cloud, which already has more than 1 million active customer accounts in just 6 months of release, allows users worldwide to store their video collections in the cloud, making them accessible on many devices.
“We welcome this talented team to the Real family. Croatia offers a pool of young, driven mobile developers, who quickly become experienced and are forging new paths in the mobile space. Opening an office there completely aligns with our strategic focus on mobile innovation.” Chairman and interim CEO Rob Glaser said.
