Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia to Croatian parents, Samantha Tutić has always held music and her heritage close to her heart.
With a father who played in bands and a mother who loved music, Sam was immersed in music from when she can remember and it is no surprise that she became a musician herself.
After releasing an album in her native tongue, Sam, who is known by her stage name, Samsaruh, has a new single written in Croatian titled “Neka Bude Mir”.
Sam has always been surrounded by the Croatian community in Melbourne, dancing kolo from the age of six, but she says she connected with her heritage on a whole new level after visiting Croatia for the first time when she was 12-years-old.
Sam told the All Things Croatia podcast that the new single in Croatian is an ode to heritage.
“It was like an intuitive splurge that just fell onto the page of these words and I just knew it would be a song for Croatia – and ode to my heritage and it’s about that. Croatia is the place I hold most dear to my hear,” Sam says, before adding.
“It has always been a dream of mine to play in Croatia and it looks like my music is calling me there.”
