The Croatia national team gathers in Zagreb on Monday ahead of three World Cup qualifiers in the next 10 days.
With no games this weekend in the Russian Premier League, Zenit Saint Petersburg defender Dejan Lovren has already arrived in the Croatian capital.
To kill time until Monday, Lovren decided to catch up with legendary Croatian mixed martial artist Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipović at his gym in Zagreb.
Despite having to play on Wednesday night against Slovenia in the 2022 World Cup qualifying opener, Lovren decided he wanted roll with the now retired MMA legend in the octagon.

The pair grappled before Cro Cop got the former Liverpool defender in an arm bar and made him tap.
“Had this morning a short training session against Cro Cop. What a beast this man still is. Was a big pleasure Mirko. Thank you,” Lovren wrote.
