VIDEO: Croatia welcomes in 2025 with open-air parties

Croatia welcomed in 2025 last night with the country celebrating New Year’s Eve with open air parties across its major cities.

Once again, most towns and cities in Croatia cancelled public fireworks displays and festivities went off mainly without a hitch. 

Temperatures were chilly around the country on Tuesday and earlier in the day, kids’ New Year’s Eve celebrations took place at midday in a number of towns and cities, offering free concerts and fun activities for the little ones.

In Dubrovnik, Stradun was packed as locals and tourists saw in the New Year to the sounds of Tony Cetinski and Italian rock musician Adelmo Fornaciari, better known as Zucchero.

In Split, Dubioza Kolektiv provided the entertainment on the waterfront as locals and tourists partied. Split was one city which did allow a fireworks display (see video below).  

In the capital city Zagreb, Miach, Grše, Hiljson Mandela, Josipa Lisac and Eurovision sensation Baby Lasagna entertained the crowd on Ban Josip Jelačić Square.

Meanwhile, Rijeka welcomed the new year with the sounds of Neno Belan & Fiumensi and Let 3.

In Osijek,  popular Croatian rock band Prljavo Kazalište played to welcome in the New Year.

Magazin played a concert in Opatija, Petar Grašo in Pula and Nina Badrić performed in Slavonski Brod on Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić Square.

Trogir’s New Year’s Eve festivities once again delighted both residents and tourists. The all-day programme beginning with a morning concert by the XXS band, whose hits and energy brought cheer to the packed Ivan Pavao II Square.

The evening programme kicked off with a set by DJ Black Shark, warming up the crowd for the main event. Giuliano and the Diktatori, who entertained the big crows on the square with their hits.

At midnight, the arrival of 2025 was marked by a fireworks display and communal countdown, with celebrations continuing late into the night.
