In the sports category, she swept the competition and earned her place in the Top 40 in the finals of the 71st Miss World pageant.
Three weeks of exciting activities in India, in the cities of New Delhi and Mumbai, will culminate in the glittering finale of the 71st Miss World on March 9, at the Jio World Convention Centre, in Mumbai.
Miss Croatia, Lucija Begić, prepared intensively for the Miss World final for several months. 116 girls will try to win, and in addition to beauty and personality, contestants from all over the world are scored in the categories of sport, talent, top model, Head to head challenge and “Beauty with a purpose”.đ

All these categories are held during their stay in New Delhi and after completion all the women go to Mumbai to prepare for the pageant.
In the sport category, Lucija Begić beat all the European misses and was the winner of the continent, earning her a place in the finals.

“The semi-final competition in sports included the Bip test, that is, the aerobic endurance test where I was actually the best of all the girls in Europe,” says Lucija. In the sports final, where 32 semi-finalists from a total of 116 participants placed, we had certain disciplines again, such as cricket, which may not be so popular in Croatia, but is one of the most popular sports in the world, field hockey and we shot penalties. The good thing is that we are a talented people, at least for football”, says Lucija.
Miss Chile was second and Miss Peru took third place.

The Misses are divided into Europe, America, Asia and Africa groups, and they are scored in some categories, so the most successful misses will be named in the Top 40 on stage at the final selection. “I’m eagerly waiting for the top model category, which will be held in Mumbai after we leave New Delhi, in which I hope to also collect enough points for a better ranking”, explains Lucija.

“I prepared in all categories, but in the Talent category they will choose only ten girls who will perform their points at the humanitarian “Beauty with a purpose” gala evening on March 3 in Mumbai. For the Head to head challenge, i.e. face-to-face, I had prepared a speech on the topic of “Food security” at the G20 Summit held in 2023 in New Delhi,” Lucija points out. The Misses had only two minutes to present their personal speech and their topic “Beauty with Purpose” to the jury. They were very eloquent and inspiring! These young women are truly making a difference in the world. The event was held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, and Lucija presented her thinking on the topic “Movement is Life”.

Five winners in that category are already known, namely Miss Botswana, Miss England, Miss Nigeria, Miss Lebanon and Miss Zimbabwe, and our Lucija will certainly join them in the Top 40 finals, while other beauties are still collecting points in the remaining categories. Lucija will present herself on stage in the final on 9.3 with a dress from the haute couture collection, signed by Ivan Alduk, who, in addition to the beautiful blue main dress encrusted with pearls, also prepared for Lucia a blue dress for the top model category, handmade over a hundred hours.

The delegation of Miss Croatia for Miss World will leave for Mumbai in a few days, headed by license holder Iva Loparić Kontek, who will support Lucia at the final.
