The chairman of the English Football Association, Greg Clarke, was in Zagreb this week visiting the Croatian Football Federation headquarters and meeting with president Davor Suker.
Clarke and Suker discussed various issues facing football today, including the development of the game, technology and challenges in infrastructure.
Clarke, who was particularly interested in Croatian youth academies and how the federation was working with age-group teams, says he was keen to come to Zagreb and sit down with Suker.
“He is a very knowledgeable man. He has been around football a long time, he understands the game, he is on the UEFA exec committee and I have come to meet him to have a good chat. He is a man of great experience and wisdom and I wish to learn from him,” Clarke told HNTV in an interview.
Croatia and England have been drawn in the same group for the inaugural UEFA Nations League.
