VIDEO: ‘Experience Golden Slavonia’ travel film wins award in Germany

Experience Golden Slavonia
“Experience Golden Slavonia” – a promotional tourism film of the Tourist Board of Požega-Slavonia County – has won first prize in the “Country International” category at The Golden City Gate Festival 2022 in Germany.
The film is produced by Balduči film, written by Spomenka Saraga, who is also the producer of the film, under the direction of Bobby Grubić, a winner of three Emmys.
The Golden City Gate Festival is an international competition of tourist films and multimedia, which has been held since 2000 as part of the world’s largest tourism fair – ITB Berlin.
Since this year’s fair was canceled, the awards ceremony was held in Bingen am Rhein during the B2B tourism fair “Back to Travel” where the award for the film “Experience Golden Slavonia” was collected by the director of Požega-Slavonia County Maja Jakobović.

“We made the film with love and great commitment of the whole team, regardless of the fact that it was a low-budget film. The first day of filming was marked by a big storm and hail that hit Požega, but the filming itself took place in a cheerful atmosphere, which I believe can be seen in the film and the jury rewarded it. We are happy with every award, whether it is a small festival, a festival that has just started or a festival that has a long tradition, and we hope that our clients who have given us confidence are also satisfied,” producer Saraga told us.
The jury that decided on the awards consists of 45 experts from various fields – tourism, hotel marketing, film, information technology, public relations, music, advertising, design, and also members are ministers, ambassadors and people from public institutions.

This is the tenth award in a row for the film. So far, the film has won awards at festivals in Turkey – Istanbul Film Festival – The best travel film, Germany KIAZ BERLIN – The best Travel film, World Film Carnival – Singapore – The best Travel film, Royal Society of Television & Motion Picture Awards – The best Travel Film, India – Calcutta International Cult Film Festival – The best Travel film, Black Swan International Film Festival – The best Travel film, The Knight of the Reel Awards – The best Travel film, Gangtok International Film Festival – The best travel film, and at a festival in Cape Town ITTF Africa – Finalist Certificate, and thus entered the CIFFT list of the best tourist films in the world and is currently in 11th place, in the Tourism Product category.
