Zagreb, Croatia – 17 February 2025 – More than 3,000 relevant and exciting video game exhibits will be showcased and available for public viewing starting in May at the newly established Video Game History Museum (VGHM) in Zagreb.
This unique museum project, the first of its kind in the region, represents an investment of over two million euros.
The museum’s founder and driving force is Damir Šlogar, a pioneer and internationally recognized authority in the world of video games.
What Will Be on Display?
The museum will cover the history of the video game industry from the late 1960s to the early 2000s. This one-of-a-kind exhibition in Europe will span three floors and more than 800 square meters. The collection has been assembled over nearly three decades and includes some of the rarest and most historically significant artifacts in video game history.
Alongside individual exhibits—some of which are rare gaming gems rarely seen by the public—the museum will also feature interactive displays, allowing visitors to experience the past firsthand. Special events, guest lectures, and meet-ups with some of the most influential figures in the industry are also planned for gaming enthusiasts.
The museum’s extensive collection includes original arcade machines, such as the legendary Computer Space and PONG, as well as the world’s largest collection of 20th-century computer games.
The founder has already announced special themed exhibitions, continuous expansion of the collection, and surprise features, including displays of next-generation technology.
Who is the Founder?
Damir Šlogar has been part of the video game industry for over 40 years, with more than half of that time spent working in the heart of the industry—Canada and the United States. A pioneer and now a veteran of this dynamic world, he has worked on over 150 game titles, including globally renowned franchises such as Shrek, Barbie, Battlefield, and My Singing Monsters.
As both the founder and curator, his goal is not only to showcase the evolution of video games but also to highlight their impact on technology and pop culture. Despite Zagreb and Croatia’s growing presence in the gaming industry, this globally significant sector has not received the visibility it deserves—until now.

Damir Šlogar
“Video games have been an essential part of my life, and through this museum, I want to share that passion with the world—especially with younger generations who may not have experienced the magic of gaming’s early days,” says Damir.
After an extensive and successful career abroad, he is now bringing his extraordinary collection back to his hometown, significantly enriching Zagreb’s cultural and tourist offerings.
