SPLIT, 3 August 2020 – American basketball great Magic Johnson did not disappoint a swarm of fans in the Croatian city of Split on Sunday night.
A large group of fans had gathered at Split’s West waterfront in front of the luxury $150 million superyacht ‘Aquila’, which Johnson is currently on sailing the Croatian coast.
Johnson had arrived in Split the day earlier and once news spread that he was in town, fans headed down to catch a glimpse of the NBA great.
As the crowd grew larger, Johnson, wearing a mask, eventually made an appearance and happily posed for photos with fans.
On Monday afternoon Johnson arrived on the island of Hvar and dined at popular fish restaurant Gariful.
He is expected to explore more of the Croatian coast and other islands this week.
Now 60, Magic played point guard for the Lakers for 13 seasons. He won a championship and an NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award in his rookie season and won four more championships with the Lakers during the 1980s. He was also a member of the 1992 United States men’s Olympic basketball team (“The Dream Team”), which won the Olympic gold medal in 1992.
