The large-scale road infrastructure project near Solin, in Dalmatia, is moving steadily towards completion.

The Mravince Interchange, located in the village of Mravince, is part of the first phase of a major development aimed at easing traffic in the Split-Solin area.

The project is part of the plan to build a fast road (brza cesta) connecting Mravince to TTTS (Tranzitno-Terminalni Sustav), and is considered an important part of the broader Trogir–Omiš fast road project.

Once completed, it will significantly improve traffic distribution before entering the busy urban centres of Split and Solin.

The interchange is designed as a denivelated roundabout with an 84-metre diameter and integrates with the eastern bypass of the Split-Solin agglomeration.

Work is progressing according to plan, with all major structures now completed. This includes the supporting wall and overpasses Mravince 1, 3 and 4, as well as Dračevac 1 and 2. The road surface has been renewed, and overpasses have been equipped with the necessary infrastructure.

As of Monday, 14 April at 5 a.m., temporary traffic regulations on the Solin–Klis fast road were lifted. This marks the end of one of the most significant phases of the project.

The remaining work – including slope protection, road surface construction, electrical work, and final equipment installation – is expected to be completed by 7 September 2025, in line with the contract.

Hrvatske Ceste, the national road authority, has released a video showing the progress of all three phases of the Mravince interchange project. The works are being carried out by the company Strabag.

The value of the works on phases 1, 2 and 3 is €7,207,069.30 (excluding VAT). Meanwhile, construction on phases 4 and 5 – covering a 2.5 km stretch from Mravince to TTTS – is also underway, with a contract value of €32,728,366.07 (excluding VAT), also carried out by Strabag.

The completion of this interchange is expected to make a real difference for drivers in the region, easing congestion and improving access across the eastern part of Split and surrounding areas.
