Polling booths will open later today (Croatian time) for the nations presidential elections…
Voters in New Zealand and Australia will be first to vote as over 3.8 million voters in more than 50 countries around the world are set to cast their vote. Candidates Ivo Josipović (SDP), Kolinda Grabar Kitarović (HDZ). Milan Kujundžić (Alliance for Croatia) and Ivan Vilibor Sinčić (Human Barrier NGO) have been campaigning this month and have taken part in a number of live debates, but as of midnight on Friday they are banned from electioneering until 19:00 hrs on Sunday when polling stations close.
Over 20,000 observers from NGOs and political parties backing the candidates will be involved in monitoring the presidential elections on Sunday, which is a record number. The observers task will be to make sure there are no irregularities with the voting process. There will also be four foreign observers monitoring the elections.
