The Croatian national football team has arrived at Tivoli Ecoresort, its base camp for the World Cup in Brazil, after a long flight from Zagreb…
The squad travelled via Lisbon to Salvador, and then a further hour by bus to Praia do Forte in Bahia, where they will stay for at least the next 20 days, and hopefully longer. The hosts organised a welcome party for the Croatian players and coaching staff, and after coach Niko Kovač cancelled a scheduled training session and had the players do a fitness session at the complex instead.
The team were also welcomed by Croatian Football Federation president Davor Šuker, Mata de Sao Joao local representatives, and Drago Štambuk, the ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Brazil.
The first training session in Brazil will be held on Wednesday (17:00), at Campo da Croacia. (pic: Drago Sopta / HNS)
