Croatia is currently in the peak of its tourist season, with over a million visitors in the country and more arriving continuously, especially during this final weekend of July.
For these visitors, from today, Saturday 27 July, the Croatian Tourist Board has once again organised the distribution of still natural mineral water, featuring a special “Welcome to Croatia” message on the bottle.
Today, 50,000 bottles of water will be handed out as a gesture of welcome and gratitude to tourists at the Rupa and Lučko toll stations and the ferry ports in Split and Hvar (Stari Grad).
In addition to water bottles, specially branded car air fresheners will also be distributed.
“This is now a traditional initiative through which we wish to express our gratitude to our many guests for choosing Croatia as their holiday destination. We aim to be good and responsible hosts.
With the heavy traffic and high temperatures, we hope this small token will ease the wait and make their journey to their final destination more pleasant.
Their positive reactions and comments show how pleasantly surprised they are by this gesture,” said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board.
The campaign is being conducted by the Croatian Tourist Board in partnership with Croatian Motorways and Jamnica.
Alongside the welcome message, the water bottles feature a QR code that leads to the Croatia.hr website, where visitors can find all the useful information about Croatian destinations and the country’s overall tourist offer.
