Well-Known American Musician Names Album After Croatian Wind

MI0003850900One trip to Croatia and a meeting with the renowned ‘bura’ wind was enough for well-known American musician Bernard Fowler to name an album after it…

Fowler (56), who provided backing vocals with The Rolling Stones for over 25 years on recordings and tours, and has been a featured guest vocalist on the a number of solo albums released by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood, named his second solo album after the famous wind.

‘The Bura’, features an all-star line up of musicians, including Slash, WaddyWachtel, Albert Lee, Lukas Nelson, Darryl Jones, Phil X, Chuck D, Foday Musa Suso, Lisa Fischer, Lenny Castro, and Jimmy Paxson, and is selling well.

The bura is a cold and dry northeastern wind that blows down from the mountains along the eastern Adriatic and is often be felt all over Dalmatia and Istria. The bura can reach speeds of up to 220 kilometers per hour. Fowler felt the force of the wind on a trip to Croatia and it obviously left an impression on him.
