As 2025 unfolds, Croatian sports fans have plenty to look forward to.
From football and handball to basketball and tennis, Croatians will proudly represent their nation this year on the big stage. Below is a schedule of some of big events in 2025.
January
7 – 12 January: The Croatian water polo team will compete in the World Cup in Bucharest.
12 January: The Australian Open starts with a number of Croatians in action (Melbourne)
14 January – 2 February: Croatia at the 2025 World Men’s Handball Championship (Croatia, Denmark & Norway)
February
21/24 Februay: Croatian basketball team will play its final EuroBasket qualifiers against France and Cyprus.
March
20 March: Croatia will face France in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals at Poljud stadium in Split.
23 March: The return leg will be played in France.
May
25 May: The French Open starts where a number of Croatians will also be in action (Paris)
June
4 – 8 June: Nations League Final Four if Croatia beats France in the quarterfinals.
30 June: Wimbledon starts
July
11 – 24 July: The Croatian water polo team will compete in the World Championship in Singapore.
August
25 August: The US Open starts
EuroBasket, held in Poland, Finland, Latvia, and Cyprus, spans late August and September. Croatia’s participation remains uncertain due to ongoing qualifiers.
September
Croatia’s road to the 2026 World Cup begin in September.
November
27 November: The Women’s Handball World Championship begins.
