Rovinj beat off bids from Egypt and Jamaica to host the millestone session next year, and is recognition for all the work it has done in its role in the World Tourism Organisation. Croatia has been a member of the UNWTO since 1993, and was elected a member of the UNWTO Executive Council for a period of four years in 2013.
