ZAGREB, 28 March (Hina) – The entry list for the WRC Croatia Rally 2024, slated to take place on 18-21 April, comprises 68 crews representing 35 countries, with eight drivers set to compete in the premier Rally1 class, a press conference heard on Monday.
Renowned as one of the premier global sporting spectacles, the WRC rally will make its fourth appearance in Croatia this season, marking the fourth leg of the year’s competition. The season kicked off with Belgian Thierry Neuville clinching victory in Monte Carlo, followed by Finn Esapekka Lappi’s triumph in Sweden. Prior to the Croatian rally, the rallying elite will test their mettle in Kenya at the Safari Rally from March 28 to 31.
After the previous triumphs of Frenchman Sebastien Ogier and Finn Kalle Rovanpera, last year saw a new victor emerge at the Croatia Rally: 34-year-old Welshman Elfyn Evans, piloting for Toyota GR.
In line with tradition, the Croatia Rally commences with a ceremonial start, where all crews will be introduced in front of the National and University Library in Zagreb on Thursday, 18 April, 2024, in the evening. The adrenaline-fueled action culminates on Sunday, April 21, with the trophy presentation ceremony set against the backdrop of the INA Business Building in Novi Zagreb.
