Mobile phone operators are rubbing their hands together in Croatia. In a nation where it is not unusual for people to carry around 2 mobile phones, latest figures reveal that Croatians are becoming more and more dependant on their mobile phones.

Croats spent 5.1 billion minutes chatting on mobile phones in the first nine months of 2012, 11 percent more than last year. The increase in mobile phone talk time has had an effect on fixed lines. There was a 16.7 percent drop in minutes this year, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.

The largest growth was reserved for broadband internet users in Croatia. Up 22.1 percent this year.
